Brabners hires first Social Impact Manager

London-based law firm Brabners has named Freya Grummitt as its inaugural Social Impact Manager, a role established after the company renewed its B Corp certification. This designation verifies adherence to rigorous benchmarks in sustainability and social responsibility. Freya Grummitt, who arrives with over a decade of expertise in responsible business strategies, has worked extensively across corporate, public, and consultancy sectors to drive impactful initiatives.
The appointment reinforces Brabners’ long-standing social impact strategy. In her new role, Freya Grummitt will lead the development and delivery of the firm’s community and sustainability programmes. She will also embed Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities throughout the business, ensuring that each department aligns its activities with the firm’s broader purpose.
Recertification and Net Zero Plans
After its recent re-certification as a B Corp, Brabners has pledged to become a net zero business by 2040. This target arrives ten years ahead of the United Nations’ global deadline. Reaching the goal will require a systematic reduction of emissions, active support for community regeneration projects, and the integration of sustainability into daily operations, internal policies, and long-term planning.
Making a Difference
Brabners and its new Social Impact Manager view the delivery of meaningful social outcomes as a core component of the firm’s broader ambition to “Make The Difference.” Since 2019, the firm has cut waste by 47 tonnes and lowered paper consumption by 3.1 million sheets each year. In addition to environmental gains, the firm has narrowed its gender pay gap and now offers two paid volunteering days to each colleague annually. The initiative encourages staff to engage with local charities and community groups, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to social responsibility.
The Brabners Foundation, the charitable arm of the firm, has raised and donated over £250,000 to a range of local and national causes. The funds have supported projects ranging from youth education programmes to health-related community services, illustrating the firm’s investment in broader societal well-being.
Freya Grummitt said, “Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping organisations create meaningful, lasting change. For Brabners, social impact is not treated as a separate initiative or a box-ticking exercise. It is woven into the firm’s culture, values and mission to make the difference.”
Robert White, Chief Executive Officer at Brabners, added, “Freya’s appointment marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to creating lasting positive impact. As a purpose-led business, we have long been committed to using our influence, expertise and resources to demonstrate that business can bring about positive and lasting change.”
